Can we say a beast? This one here puts it down! She is a song writer, singer and arranger. Lately she’s gotten some buzz for backround vocals on Free Yourself (Fantasia). She also wrote (and performed) Say I which we know from Christina Millan. And Resentment was originally sang and written by her! Victoria, Posh Spice, Beckham and Beyonce also have a cover version of it.  

I’ve gotta showcase her. She has a raregift (think Clarke Sisters, Kim Burrell, Etta James, Sarah Vaughn) A lot try, but sister here got it! A true soul singer to the heart (and anointed) she has a lot of people to reach ahead of her.

THE GOSPEL… Israel (Houghton) and New Breed

 So, Israel Houghton (with the hat on) is my favorite gospel artist of all time! (Kim Burrell and the Clark Sisters are right behind.)

Blessed with the anointing of God, this young man and his group New Breed, bring to us the message of salvation and peace through Jesus Christ infused with his own experiences, worship and jazzy twing. I really can’t say there is a project I’ve heard that I don’t like.

My boy has done it again, and this time with A Timeless Christmas. For those of you who celebrate it, this would be a great album to own. Jonathan Butler, Lela Hathaway and Israel’s own daughter Mariah lend vocals to this project. A cute surprise included is an interlude with Israel’s son singing his own version of a Christmas song. The Gospel…Danny Eason

Alright ya’ll….

We gonna take a moment of silence so I can pay homage to my main man Danny Eason. A dynamic intercontinental choir director, and the main instrument God used to bring me to him, he’s still got as much energy now as he did when I sang with them about 11 years ago.

This video does NO justice but G-d reminded me when I saw this not to despise the days of small beginnings. So much has happened since then and you know what? I ALMOST forgot. But G-D is too good! Wow!
